But it’s not just about food on Boniface, you can also go for cocktails – or, if you are in a more sober mood, for an excellent cup of tea or coffee.
The place to go, then, is Comptoir Florian.
It’s a lovely little tea room, with just a couple of tables outside, while inside you have the main room with five or so tables and another, much smaller room with just two tables and comfy leather chairs. Don’t forget to turn of your mobile phone – this is a quiet place.
The coffee on offer sounds great, but – being tea-lovers – we opted for a chocolate roibos tea instead. It was excellent, served in a beautiful pot, which kept it warm for a good half hour and accompanied by two slices of (home-made? I would think so!) chocolate cake. Now, spending ~10 Euro on tea for two may seem a bit much, but if you sit there reading or talking for some time it’s well worth it.
Of course, they also sell tea (and pots and mugs and …), so you can take a little piece of Comptoir Florian with you.
Happy tea drinking!
