The Castle of Groot-Bijgaarden has opened its doors once again for the Floralia Spring Exhibition, and no matter whether you have seen it every year or not at all, it is always worth a visit.
The gardeners have by hand planted 1 million (!) spring bulbs – don’t worry, you will not be asked to recount them all -, ensuring breath-taking results year after year. 500 varieties are on show, including 400 different kinds of tulips.
The castle, of course, is a pretty sight in itself; and while you are admiring the flowers in the castle grounds, don’t forget that there is also an indoor exhibition in the 1000m² greenhouse that is worthy of your attention.
There is only one downside (there always is, isn’t there?): The Floralia is only open for a month, with the 2015 edition closing on May 3rd.
You can find all the information about the castle and the flower show on their website here, including detailed instructions on how to get there.
Enjoy the show & please do stop to smell the flowers!
