Get your Chopsticks Going

As the days are getting cooler, what better is there to do than treat yourself to a shopping splurge? Autumn-collections are in stores as from now. And all that shopping will definitely make you hungry. Instead of going for the “naughty” option fast food, try a healthy snack – say Vietnamese food.

We just discovered this great little restaurant right outside the Market Hall of St. Gery: Hong Hoa is on Rue du Pont de la Carpe 10 and worth a visit. When the weather is nice they have a couple of tables outside, if not the inside is quite cosy too. (Unlike at Hong Kong Delight just around the corner, which I will write about soon!)

We got there around 6:30 pm, after our stroll through town. We were served promptly and were quite surprised: Although this restaurant is in the middle of town it is reasonably priced. We went for Tofu with veggies (9 Euro)  and Chicken with veggies (9 Euro)  and were more than content! (The tofu is fried and lovely soft-style.) The best thing was that the dishes come with a bowl of rice (a very reasonable portion) – included in the price. (The menu actually had rice as a side, so we weren’t expecting rice.) We were actually going for a low-carb-evening. But we instantly ditched those plans:-)

With drinks we left with a bill of 23 Euros – a steal for Brussels and so much better  than many other Thai in town!

Try it out for yourself.

P.S. Don’t take us too seriously on the No-Fast-Food-Talk. If in Brussels you should try Quick-Burgers at least once! They are worth a little sin 🙂
