Market at Place Flagey
Start your Weekend in Style

Sure, you can start your weekend by throwing some things into a bag and driving to the seaside. Yes, you can – if you were smart enough to book ahead – go for a delicious brunch at Oma or Les Filles.

But you can just as well opt for the easy, spontaneous, even more relaxed alternative: The Saturday Market at Place Flagey.

If you want to begin your weekend without much planning, Flagey is the way to go.

Feel like cooking? You’ll find all the meat, fruit, spices, vegetables necessary here.

Too lazy to cook? Fine, there are more than enough market stalls here selling you a wide variety from Roasted Chicken to Vegatable Tajine, Oysters, Burgers and Crep Marocaine.

Just want to go for a coffee? Bingo – just decide whether to have it directly on the market or after the market-stroll in one of the cafes nearby. If it’s sunny, Cafe Belga will probably make that decision easier for you by offering deckchairs ideal for dozing, reading or people-watching.

So, yes, the Flagey Market is not your number one fruit & vegetable market – that would be Anderlecht or Midi – and, yes, St. Gilles has more food trucks. But for a laid-back start to the weekend, nothing beats the Saturday morning on Flagey.

    HI there,

What are the opening hours of the Flagey Market? And when do the markets in St Gilles take place as well as timings?

    Many kind thanks.

Hi! Flagey Market is usually open from early morning to ~1 pm on both Saturday an Sunday. The St Gilles market is on Monday and starts late afternoon, I would recommend going there not earlier than 5 or 5.30. Enjoy!
