Maybe it was the effect of tasting all those delicious christmas beers, maybe it was just coincidence; fact is, January on our blog was mostly about beer and beer-related activities.
The highlight of those certainly was our trip to the abbey of St. Sixtus, home of the world-famous Westvleteren trappist beer. If you don’t want to go this far (or can’t get an appointment at St. Sixtus), there’s also the new Beer Museum on Grand-Place, which we review recently (spoiler alert: it’s not that great an attraction).
We’ve also recommended a new spot for drinking a beer: Cafe/Bar Delecta near Place Flagey, a nice alternative to Cafe Belga. We certainly could have used a beer (nah, make that two!) after the rather disappointing service we received at Posto al Sole – which is a shame, since they make decent pizza.
Last but definitively not least, the new year so far has brought us five new beers on the blog: Urthel Hop It, Kerst Pater, La Trappe Dubbel, Bornem Tripel and the white one from Chimay, Chimay Tripel.
